Baker Hughes (BKR), C3.ai, and Microsoft (MSFT) said Tuesday that they have formed an alliance to deliver enterprise artificial intelligence technology to the energy industry through cloud computing platform Microsoft Azure.

The alliance will allow energy industry customers to streamline the adoption of scalable AI solutions, which will be tailored to address challenges such as inventory optimization and predictive maintenance.

The solutions will simplify the adoption of AI capabilities for energy companies, starting with moving data management, storage, and compute onto Azure.

“By bringing together the domain expertise of Baker Hughes and the AI strengths of C3.ai to run on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, customers can achieve new levels of digital transformation while advancing their sustainability commitments,” said Microsoft’s EVP for Worldwide Commercial Business, Judson Althoff, in a statement.
